International Youth Work

At Springbank Community Group CiC, we are proud to be part of the Youth for Peace Movement, a unique initiative that brings together young people from Cheltenham (UK), Göttingen (Germany), and Torun (Poland). This inspiring partnership, delivered in collaboration with Cheltenham International Partnerships, fosters international understanding, collaboration, and peacebuilding among young people.

The Youth for Peace Movement focuses on promoting dialogue, cultural exchange, and collective action across borders. It provides young people with opportunities to work together on projects that address shared global challenges while building lifelong skills and friendships.

Through this initiative, participants engage in activities such as:

  • Peacebuilding Workshops: Exploring themes of conflict resolution, equality, and global citizenship, empowering young people to contribute positively to their communities and the wider world.
  • Cultural Exchanges: Travelling to partner cities or hosting peers from Göttingen and Torun, allowing young people to experience new cultures, traditions, and perspectives.
  • Collaborative Projects: Working together on initiatives focused on key global themes like sustainability, social inclusion, and human rights.
  • Commemorative Activities: Taking part in events and projects that honour the history and legacy of peacebuilding efforts in Europe.

By participating in the Youth for Peace Movement, young people from Cheltenham and its partner cities develop a greater appreciation for diversity and a deeper understanding of what it means to work collaboratively for a shared goal. These experiences not only enhance personal growth and leadership skills but also contribute to building stronger, more connected communities across Europe.

The partnership between Cheltenham, Göttingen, and Torun stands as a powerful example of how young people can lead the way in fostering peace and understanding. At Springbank Community Group CiC, we are proud to support this vital initiative and provide local young people with the chance to be part of something truly transformative.

If you’d like to learn more about the Youth for Peace Movement or get involved, we’d love to hear from you!
